MHTP2008

MHTP2008

This event was probably one of the best to date. Once again Loony party members, came from far and wide to attend the Loony party Mad Hatters Tea Party Conference, to have a good time, to have a few beers, to meet old and new friends and most importantly to prepare ourselves for Government, with discussion of new ideas and policies to grab the voters attention at the next general election and ensure a Loony landslide.

Fundraising

We are pleased to announce that this year’s charitable beneficiaries were the 3rd Molesey Scout group   www.3rdmoleseyscouts.org.uk   that require much needed funds to have a new roof installed on their scout hall. This was mainly via a raffle to be held on the Saturday evening with many great prizes already being pledged by local shops and businesses.  May we thank everyone who donated sutch great prizes.

Music By the Big Fibbers ( www.bigfibbers.co.uk )   started with an impromptu busking session inside the Pub followed by a full and very entertaining set later.

Magic Bus  (www.catchthebus.co.uk )   are an amazing and completely entertaining duo with a varied set of music interspersed with amazing feats of magic.

Coupled with the great music, I couldnt not find anyone who could explain how we could afford to book these two great bands. You have got to see these bands if they are in your area.

Saturday 22 March

was opened officially at 2pm with the Pouring of the TEA by Elmbridge’s deputy Mayor, Councillor Nigel Cooper.

seen here talking to Alan "Howlin Laud" Hope (something about a fish we are told?)

followed by what is now becoming an annual and National event.....The OMRLP Grand Spacehopper Derby Race.

A Special Prize draw The 500 Dump was conducted later with Dizzy the Horse (seen here) picking the £300.00 prize square for one lucky winner with an equal amount going to the 3rd Molesey Scout group.

Music from the 50s/60s & 70s with Mona Leeza

started at 8o/c and continued until the Big raffle with OMRLP Leader, Alan ‘Howlin Laud’ Hope picking the prizes, and then doing a few numbers with the band.

The Evening finished off with the amazing Shock Horror Rock with the Texas Chainsaw Orchestra. (seen but not believed)

Great music, Great entertainment, great event.....

Our thanks go to Ted Palmer who was our official photographer of this event.  Many more pics of the MHTP 2008 can be seen on his site and of course samples of his other high quality pic work can be seen at http//.www.phototed.co.uk

..................and not forgetting TSTToys who are official suppliers of Spacehoppers to the Loony party. They do a vast array of other fun stuff as well which can be seen at    TSTToys.co.uk

Finally a big big thankyou to everyone who took part, the landlord and staff  of the Prince of Wales and a special thanks to Chinners who organised it all.
