Full report
We are very grateful to our Party Chairman "The Jersey Flyer"
who has braved the elements and took the time out, to go to deepest, darkest Hampshire, to the hamlet of Hook, the venue of our conference and explore. We were safe in the knowledge that the difficult task of sampling the food and wines available in the Hook Locale, was dealt with by our intrepid Jersey Flyer, without any fear or concern for his own safety. Three cheers for The Jersey Flyer. Hip Ray, Hip Ray, Hip Ray.
And what a great time was had by all. As per usual. Persons from far and far, came saw and ....stayed for a weekend of fun, beer etc, and good company, not to mention the great bands who came and played.
The people of Hook were very impressed that the Loony Party had now put their small hamlet on the map The Conference meeting was held and several items were on the agenda, including one badly stained coffee cup. An items discussed and passed unanimously was the re writing of a new constitution. True to our manicfesto proposal we all went for a walk before discussing this, as everyone knows walking is good for the Constitution.
Earlier in the day we had our Cabinet reshuffle, which was shown exclusively on every TV Channel. See below for media coverage.
Bands :
Fri night,,,,"WHATS NEXT" were brilliant and played a eclectic mix of covers which we all know but rarely hear. Fortunately they played them so well the pub was rockin almost from the start. Fantastic band.. go see em if you can. The Big Fibbers played for a while and were their usual excellent selves. One of our favourite bands.
Sat Night.....something completely different, and wacky" The Bolivian Sunshine Dogs"...' ,
started off the evening with music which seemed like a cross between Bonzo Dog and the Temperence Seven. Very different and entertaining.
The Big Fibbers' played a second set of completely different material, which as has come to be expected contained funny lyrics and tuneful choruses. Brilliant..
Dale Fontaine and his ECHOE'S of ELVIS show, was a show not to be missed. If you like Elvis this guy does em all. And we also had a suprise guest singing along with Dale.
A Blast from the past. Well known 50's Rock n Roll singer Kerry Rapid. A are treat indeed. All in all, A rockin show.
